The opera school presents
SOUND OF MUSIC & MOVIES
We offer treats from the world of film, where opera and musicals have also played a significant role!
This year's performance for and with the Opera School includes music created directly for the film, such as James
Bond and "Goldfinger". Major films have also been made of several musicals, such as "Les Miserables" and "Cats".
We will present a selection of these, as well as other treats from the musical theatre scene. Background music in film is
through the ages from several genres. Opera is very widely used; as in the Italian film
"La vita e bella" with Offenbach's music. "Carmen" itself became a major film for the cinema in the 1980s.
A good film should be enjoyed in the cinema; with, for example, direction by Coppola and music by Nino Rota; "Il Padrino".
