STIFTELSEN OPERA TRØNDELAG shall conduct professional opera/musical theatre activities, locally and regionally, based on the district opera model. The foundation shall promote activities where children and young people can develop in the performing arts. The foundation may also conduct other activities related to its main purpose.
Opera Trøndelag has particularly excelled in the development of young talent.
Opera Trøndelag is an important player in the "OperaNorge" network and has for many years had a visible collaboration with businesses and public organisations. The company has considerable activity throughout the year and manages a large number of organisations.
The District Opera model is based on interaction between professionals and amateurs. Volunteers and voluntary work are important elements in the realisation of activities.
Opera Trøndelag is a continuation of Steinvikholm Music Theatre, which was founded in 1992.
