The Friends of Opera Trøndelag Talent Award 2024 goes to Karianna Sommerro.

The Friends of Opera Trøndelag present the Friends of Opera Trøndelag Talent Award in the autumn of 2024, and this year the award goes to a local singer with an impressive track record.

The jury's statement

The Friends of Opera Trøndelag have decided to present this year's Talent Award to musical artist Karianna Sommerro. She has distinguished herself with a high level as a performer on stages around Norway. She has also been a student at the opera school, now an instructor, and has been active as a soloist in several of Opera Trøndelag's own productions.

An expert committee has assessed candidates for this talent award.

The committee consists of:
Nina Sætherhaug, opera singer and board member of Opera Trøndelags Venner.
Anne Spets, Artistic Director at Opera Trøndelag
Christian Jakobsen Røst, Gjensidige Stjørdal.

Karianna Sommerro

Karianna Sommerro is an actress and singer from Trondheim, and has broad experience from theatre, musicals, plays and concerts. Karianna has participated in productions at Trøndelag Theatre, Opera Trøndelag, Turnéteatret i Trøndelag and others. She has played roles such as Josefine in "Bør Børson Jr", Inger in "Husmorskolen", Tone in "Spelet om Mardøla", Karen in "Lady Arbuthnott" and Liesl von Trapp in "The Sound of Music". In addition to being a performer, she is an instructor at Opera Trøndelag's opera school, as well as producer of the children's show "Nissen som mista trua på seg sjøl".

The Friends of Opera Trøndelag hope that the Talent Award for 2024 will be an important inspiration for Karianna and will help her to further establish herself as a professional singer.

The award will be presented during Talent award concert i Kimen culture centre 31. October at 18.00
