Mini-Bør on a school tour in Stjørdal!

In weeks 21 and 22, the 5th - 7th grades in Stjørdal municipality will be visited by Opera Trøndelag with the DKS production «Mini-Bør»!

The pupils are introduced to both Bør and Josefine, as well as several of the other characters in Norway's first musical. Opera Trøndelag has created a DKS-adapted version of the popular musical and the pupils get to experience a parade of songs and well-known lines.
This will be «Primary commodity, secondary not»!

With open arms and fresh pastries, Bør Børson Jr. embraces the world. He wants to be someone - he wants success! Driven by the scepticism of his surroundings and a not insignificant inferiority complex, he throws himself headlong into colonial business, stock trading and love. Helped by his indomitable spirit, good humour and a twinkle in his eye (and a small dose of luck), Bør eventually succeeds: He is hailed as the great son of Olderdalen and he gets his Josefine.

Johan Falkberget is a pillar of Norwegian literature. His poetry has given Trøndelag a significant place in literary history, and his books about An-Magrit and Den fjerde nattevakt (The Fourth Night Watch) have portrayed the mining community of Røros with wisdom, wit and weight. But it is in the story of Olderdalen's greatest son that Falkberget's deep understanding of the human spirit is put in partnership with his sense of humour and knowledge of the tight grip of small towns. Through Bør Børson Jr. he has created a durable, popular classic that has touched and inspired people from Trøndelag and beyond since it first saw the light of day. The stage version of Bør Børson Jr. premiered at The Norwegian Theatre in 1972, and is considered the first Norwegian musical.

The story of Bør is well known to adults, but Opera Trøndelag wants younger audiences to take part in the story too. This is a reunion with one of the region's most popular characters of all time, and for younger audiences the performance will be a fresh encounter with Trøndelag's cultural heritage.
