CHRISTMAS CHEER
Opera Trøndelag is the organiser when the Trondheim Soloists take over Skatval Church. They are joined by soprano Astrid Nordstad.
For the first time in 2020, TrondheimSolistene is taking "Julefryd" out of the national sanctuary to audiences in central Norway. With three unique concerts in Skatval Church in Stjørdal and elsewhere, the performers, together with mezzo-soprano Astrid Nordstad, will deliver a programme ranging from well-known and beloved Christmas carols, but also a lot of new ones - everything from powerful and big, to quiet and poignant. There will also be sing-alongs.
Nordstad made her debut at the Norwegian National Opera & Ballet in 2019, and is one of the country's greatest talents in classical singing. Astrid has also sung with Opera Trøndelag before, including in Olav Engelbrektsson.
In 2020, Nidarosdomens Jentekor and TrondheimSolisten's release "LUX" received the GRAMMY Award in the USA. This is the first time an album with a Norwegian choir and orchestra received this award. Their album "MAGNIFICAT" also received a GRAMMY nomination in 2014.
