Welcome to the festival and "People are people"
Opera Trøndelag's main production in 2024 is La Traviata by G. Verdi and director Arne Fagerholt have created a performance that questions gender identities.
Violetta's (the main character in La Traviata) exclusion and unfortunate fate has been easy to recognise for many queer people throughout history. Exclusion is something many have experienced, and continue to experience. We want to focus on this when we invite you to a three-day queer festival with the aim of creating curiosity and debate. Here there is room for alland the events are free of charge*.
Welcome to the opera ball, art exhibition, mingling, dialogue meetings, walking evening and more. For the little ones, there will be "join the dance" and a Fish Bubble Party.

Tuesday 16 April
16.00 Official opening at Kimen Square. Stay and dance with Bjørnis
16.30 Fish bubble party in the Library Foyer. Get your free ticket HER
17.30 Gallery opening in the gallery with an exhibition of Ellie Rokhaug. There will also be mingling and slogans from queer organisations as well as artistic performances. The gallery opening will be streamed (link coming soon).
Wednesday 17 April
12.00 noon All-singing at Kimen with Tor Ivar Hagen
13.30 "The rarity of Queer Opera" with Daniel Fong (streaming, link coming soon)

14.30 Professional talk and discussion led by Aksel Tollåli (streamed, link coming soon)
Artistic elements along the way
7.00 pm Hiking field "Hymns in exclusion" in Kimen Church with, among others, Ole Einar Andersen and Karianna Sommerro (streamed, link coming soon)
Thursday 18 April
19.00 OperaBall in Storsalen in Kimen kulturhus. A number of artists from all over Trøndelag will raise the roof at Kimen with magnificent singing under the slogan "Dare to be". Free admission (requires separate ticket). Catering.
"Folk er folk" is a collaboration between Opera Trøndelag and Sceptical voices.
