Variety and revue with a twinkle in the eye
There will be a cabaret with well-known songs, a reunion with old heroes and a high charm factor from the county music trio Pocus and soloists Lars Eggen and Nina Sætherhaug.
We have been inspired by Hjorten Revy- og Varietéteater, which was founded in Ila in Trondheim in 1867. Many of the great entertainment stars visited Hjorten over the years, and the theatre was popular with all walks of life. Hjorten closed in 1947 and the characteristic theatre building was finally demolished in 1961, but the music and stories remain as an important part of Trøndelag's musical life.
Join in on the fun when county musicians in Trøndelag and Opera Trøndelag are touring in conjunction with this production to provide a rare look back at a bygone era of glory.
Pocus consists of Elin Torp Meland - oboe/English horn, Astri Hoffmann Tollas - cello and Jon Kristian Bye - piano. The trio has a background in classical music, but often works at the intersection of a number of other styles and genres. Pocus is part of Fylkesmusikerne i Trøndelag and has existed in its current form since 2019. The mission of the county musicians is to act as a professional, performing ensemble, support the voluntary cultural life, and contribute to a rich cultural and musical life throughout the county and especially in the districts.
