We have been inspired by Hjorten Revy- og Varietéteater, which was founded in Ila in Trondheim in 1867, where the cabaret genre was central, with a mix of songs, revue numbers, sketches and pure musical elements. Many of the big entertainment stars visited Hjorten over the years, and the theatre was popular with all walks of life. Hjorten closed in 1947 and the characteristic theatre building was finally demolished in 1961, but the music and stories remain an important part of Trøndelag's musical life.

Pocus consists of Elin Torp Meland - oboe/English horn, Astri Hoffmann Tollas - cello and Jon Kristian Bye - piano. The trio has a background in classical music, but often works at the intersection of a number of other styles and genres. Pocus is part of Fylkesmusikerne i Trøndelag and has existed in its current form since 2019. The mission of the county musicians is to act as a professional, performing ensemble, support the voluntary cultural life, and contribute to a rich cultural and musical life throughout the county and especially in the districts.
